Central Valley
Fresno County
Fresno County, which includes the exact center of the State of California, is comprised of 15 cities and is known as the Agricultural Capital of the World producing over 350 crops. Grapes are this county’s largest crop, with award winning wines now competing with the best in the world.
Fresno County is one of the only places in America with such close proximity to three national parks within a 90 minute drive making it the perfect place for National Park Visitors!
A few facts: very little traffic, 120 distinct cultures, 300 days of sunshine, rich in education and innovation and home to California State University Fresno.
Tulare County
It is nestled between the Sierra Nevada and Coastal mountain ranges, in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley. Tulare County is home to over 400,000 people and recognized as one of the largest agricultural-producing counties in the world and number one in the state, as well as the nation, for total milk production.
A great environment for new and growing business, quality development and local leadership dedicated to a well-balanced community make Tulare County a thriving alternative for families looking for small-town charm with big city advantages. Affordable homes, abundant cultural and recreational opportunities, good schools and a quality workforce are the fabric of the cities throughout our county.
Sequoia National Park is located in the county, as are part of Kings Canyon National Park, in its northeast corner (shared with Fresno County), and part of Mount Whitney, on its eastern border (shared with Inyo County).
Kings County
Affordable living and growth potential is just part of Kings County allure. Located in the southern San Joaquin Valley not far from Fresno, Hanford, the county seat, is a rural town supporting a wide variety of agriculture, while Corcoran is a similar but smaller town further into the flatlands to the west. Areas to the east produce citrus crops.
The Sierra Nevada and its national parks begin their rise 20 miles east, with Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks a 50 mile drive northeast. Kings County’s population is approximately 150,000 people.
Central Coast
San Luis Obispo County
San Luis Obispo county has approximately 270,000 residents. The small size of the county’s communities, scattered along the beaches, coastal hills, and mountains of the Santa Lucia range, provides a wide variety of coastal and inland hill ecologies to support fishing, agriculture, and tourist activities.
California Polytechnic State University has almost 20,000 students. Tourism, especially for the wineries, is popular. Grapes and other agriculture products are an important part of the economy. San Luis Obispo County is the third-largest producer of wine in California, surpassed only by Sonoma and Napa Counties. Strawberries are the largest agricultural crop in the county.
The weather is near perfect year-round and makes for a wonderful place to live.
